COVID-19 Policy
It is our intent to allow our leaders and members discretion to make decisions that are best for them, at the same time we need to make sure that we are not creating an unacceptable amount of risk for other individuals.
- All members and leaders attending our events should be aware of CDC Guidelines and consider them when making decisions and determining what level of risk you are willing to accept. We acknowledge that each one of us is impacted by different factors and because of this the level of risk an individual is willing to accept may vary.
- We ask that all members and leaders attending our events stay up to date on recent COVID-19 trend and news and use this information to make good decisions about the level of risk you are willing to accept.
- We recommend that you get vaccinated and boosted, but as a group we do not require it. Event leaders can require vaccines or boosters for individuals attending their events at their discretion.
- We recommend masks for carpooling or indoor activities, but as a group we do not require it. All individuals attending our events must follow all applicable local laws and regulations regarding masks. Event leaders or carpool drivers can require masks for individuals attending their events or riding in their cars at their discretion.
- Those who have been in close contact with any individual who has tested positive to COVID-19 should not attend our events withing 10 days of their exposure. A negitive COVID-19 test is not required before attending events again, but it is recommended.
- Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 should not attend our events for a full 10 days after their last positive test. After the 10 days, if you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving you may begin to attend our events again. A negitive COVID-19 test is not required before attending events again, but it is recommended.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 after attending a Utah Outdoors event you should imediatly notify the leader or that event and any individuals you had close contact with at that event.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 and fail to adhere to our our policies OR fail to adhere to CDC Guidelines when outside our group and interacting with others, it may result in your imediate removal from our group.
We request that the decisions of others reguarding COVID-19 be respected as long as those decisions do not intentionally put others at risk.
